Last April 12, me and my special friend, Dora went to Jomabo Island Beach Resort for a getaway. Dora was introduced to me by a former colleague, she is 24 years old and a graduate of UP in the Visayas. She is working in the company I used to work in India. She just had her birthday in April 1, this getaway is sort of a birthday present to her and a big chance for me to know more about her.

Jomabo is an isolated island in the coast of Escalante, Negros Occidental. The island is tiny, in fact during typhoons it is completely submerged. It is surrounded by crystal clear waters and white sands. The island is privately owned and getting there means you have to buy reservation from Sun Travel Tours which based in Bacolod City. They just made a holy week promo of 600.00 PHP per person for their Day Tour package. Sensing this is a good deal, I purchased my reservation for 2 in Iloilo as they they have a branch here in Jaro. The promo price already includes the shuttle service from Bacolod City to Escalante port and the boat ride from port to the island. Total travel time takes about 2.5 hours, one way. We left Bacolod City at 8:00 AM, to enjoy the ride, we brought with us "chichirias" and spent most of the time sharing stories of our personal life. I really enjoyed conversing with Dora, she engages me. Never found her boring at all. She has a very sunny disposition, lively.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the beautiful and dreamy scenery. Dora and I explored the island and some items sold on the mini store like t-shirt and shorts as she didn't really intend to swim. But after witnessing the enticingly cool waters, she changed her mind. We also went to check the hotel, pretending we are going to rent one. The rooms are spacious. Dora was very interested with the tree house. We ordered for buffet lunch made up of squid adobo, grilled chicken and chopsuey with coconut shake. The food is good and more than enough for the two of us. We spent almost 3 hours just talking about almost anything. I've never been so interested in a person before and that too comfortably speak out my thoughts.
We spent the rest of the time swimming at the "pool" side of the beach. The pool side is calmer side with no waves. There Dora and I went for a fun swimming competition. She demonstrated the "mermaid" style of swimming and I have shown her my own version of "doggie" style. I practiced diving, with her telling the correct way, but I ended up doing it my way, that is just jump with no caution at all.
We went back to Bacolod City at exactly 3:00 PM. The short time we were together, plus the beauty of the island is unforgettable. The brief moment and information that Dora and I shared is invaluable. Mind you she wasn't feeling well as she has colds, but she came and enjoyed with me.
To my good friend Dora, thank you for the brief moment that you and I spent. I've never been happier in my life.

Wow, a private island...that looks pretty nice. One of these days if I ever manage to earn enough money online I wouldn't mind buying one of those :)
Hi Karlonia,
I know of one island in Concepcion, Iloilo that's for sale below PHP 10 million. It's also a private island owned by a family and has a sand bar strip. Contact me if you're interested.
