Encash the Google Affiliate Network Payment Check

To my fellow bloggers in Iloilo and in Panay island in general, I have good news. In my previous post, I have written about receiving an email notifying me of a Google Affiliate Network check sent to me. Well, I wasn't able to receive it. Blame it to the crooked Post Office officials. So I requested for a second check and I'm so surprised they sent me another one. This time, I received it. The check dated October 14, 2008 is worth 60.00 USD.

The problem is if I have to encash it, I need to deposit it in a US dollar account. Any bank will do, but I don't have one. After several calls to my friends, I found a contact that accepts these kind of checks albeit at a lower exchange rate. In short, I netted 2,730.00 Php for an exchange rate of 45.50.
