Last August 30, 2008, I was very surprised to received an email from Google Affiliate Network informing me that they sent payment. Google Affiliate Network is well, Google's answer to big affiliate sites like Commission Junction. It's a service that brings advertisers and publishers together, providing advertisers a platform to showcase their products to publisher's visitors. Formerly known as DoubleClick Performics, it was acquired by Google last March 2008. They have a lot of advertisers that will suit any category of blog or website.
I happened to join Google Affiliate Network because I applied for OfficeMax's affiliate program. OfficeMax is an online store that specialize in office supplies. As an affiliate, OfficeMax provides the following commission based on sales volume:
$1 - $20,000 gives 4%
$20,000 - $65,000 gives 5%
> $65,000 will give you 6%
I'm lucky as a visitor purchased an item through my banner. The amount is a hefty $1,499.98 which entitles me to a $60.00 income. They pay via check, the email states that I should be receiving it in 5-8 business days. Hmm, this is very good, affiliate programs just continue to surprise me.
